Applying decor can actually be a little tougher to do than you think, especially once layering comes into play!
Here's a handy guide thrown together to show you how to equip those Two Little Rascals and make some nice scenery with other decors layered in the background.

Applying Your Decor

Oh no! Your lion looks very sad sitting there all plain and alone. Let's give it a friend!

Go to your hoard and select 'Decoration' from the drop down:

This will filter everything in your hoard and show you only the decoration items you own. Click on the decor you want, and you will be presented with this screen and given a few options:

To equip it to your lion, click use. You will be given a confirmation notification that your decor has been successfully equipped, and there's even a handy link to go see your lion right away!

Aww, how sweet! Your lion now has a hooved friend to call their own.

Removing Decor

Removing decor is even easier than equipping it! All you do is go to your lion's page, scroll down to Equipped Decorations, and tick the box next to the decor you want to remove. Then, just hit Remove Decors:

When the page loads after removing the decor, the items you selected to remove will be gone from your lion and return to your Hoard. Note that Backgrounds are separate from decor, and have to be removed by clicking the Remove button next to their name:

Backgrounds will always be at the top of the Equipped Decorations list and separate from the decor, so that you can easily see it!

Layering

The awesome thing about decors is that you can add as many as you want, and layer them so that they line up nicely on your lion depending on how you want them to look. If you scroll down on your lion's page, you will see a section that says Equipped Decorations:

Wow, that's quite a list! As you can see, each decor has the number of uses remaining in parenthesis, a check mark box, and a box that lists a number. The higher the number means that the decor will lay on top of the ones with lower numbers. So for example, those that have a '2' will cover over things that are a '1'. This works well for things like mist or fog, when you want to give your lion a spooky overlay but still have everything blend well! Once you edit the numbers, hit Update Orders and the layers of your decor will change to what you specified!

Above or Below?

What is this Above and Below nonsense on the decor list on your lion's page, you ask? It's actually pretty straightforward!

Decors listed as Above will apply to your lion on top of the lion image. This means that decor such as jewelry, flowers, animal friends, etc will be visible in front of the lion and will never be behind them. If a decor is listed as Above it cannot be switched to a Below decor in order to be placed behind your lion.

Decors listed as Below will apply to your lion behind the lion image but in front of the background. Decor like trees, hanging vines, shrubs, and other items will often be in this category and will appear as if they are behind where your lion is standing. If a decor is listed as Below it cannot be switched to an Above decor to be placed in front of your lion.

Maybe you're more of a visual learner? Luckily Eira is here to help us show you!

An Above decor we have on the site is Water Reeds:

As you can see, the reeds go in front of Eira and are layered on top of him. This is what the decor will do to every lion you equip it to, and it can't be changed.

A Below decor we have is Dead Tree:

The tree appears to be behind him, as if he is standing in front of it. This is what the decor will do to every lion you equip it to, and it can't be changed.

Lion Equipper

In April 2019, Lioden introduced the Lion Equipper which was a handy combination of the preview capabilities of the Wardrobe applying decor from your hoard, and rearranging decor order. Instead of having to take different paths to get the look you want, you can use the Equipper to do it all on one page!

To get to the Lion Equipper you can either click on it via a lion's page in the decorations area:

Or you can access it via the Scrying Stone in Crossroads:

If you do it through the Scrying Stone you will have to manually select a lion from the dropdown to start equipping:

Whichever way you choose to get to it, once the equipper loads you will be presented with your lion in all of it's decor'd (or not) glory:

Don't mind Eira, he just likes to get dressed up and thinks he's hot stuff (). Anyway, if you look on the left hand side, you will see that all decor that is in your hoard is visible, as well as all backgrounds:

All items are displayed unstacked so there will be multiples visible if you have more than one of that item.

On the right hand side are the decors that are currently equipped to your lion:

Beside each decor is an up arrow, a down arrow, and an X. This is where you can rearrange decor and remove it.

Let's try it out! To complete this Egyptian theme, Eira needs a snake. Luckily we have one! To apply it, simply click on the decor and it will appear on your lion and on the equipped list:

How cool! But...the snake looks like it's hovering. Maybe it should go under the ground fog? Let's try and adjust the layering by hitting the up arrow next to the decor:

With one click, the snake now looks much better in the scene!

The snake now sits under the ground fog, and has also been adjusted on the equipped list. You can play around with the arrows to get your desired look layering all of the decor, and if you decide you don't like a decor, simply hit the X and the decor will be removed from the lion!

Be aware that nothing will be applied or changed on your lion unless you hit SAVE, so be sure to do that before navigating away if you want to keep your look!
