"You sit in the sun, thinking about how cool rain is. Literally."
The current season and time of day on Lioden will influence your gameplay through various different aspects. Depending on what season and time it is, your lion will come across different encounters while exploring, certain exclusive bases will become available during breeding, and a special breeding item's effect will trigger! Within this page, you'll learn how important the season and time cycles are on Lioden.
Day and Night Cycle
On Lioden, day and night both last for one hour each, meaning you can experience day and night changes up to twelve times per day. To check whether it is currently day or night, look at the top section of your sidebar. The sun symbol indicates that it's currently daytime, while the moon symbol indicates nighttime. They are both displayed on the left, next to the current weather symbol.
There are several features that depend upon the day and night cycles.
- Certain explore encounters and NPCs will only appear during a specific time of day.
- Dynamic backgrounds and decors will change their art to feature the time of day that is currently present on Lioden.
- If a lioness has been given a Mukombero, she can only be bred during nighttime on Lioden.
- Crossroads art will display different aesthetics depending on the time of day.

Seasons
There are two seasons that take place on Lioden: dry and wet season. Dry season lasts for eight real life days, while wet season lasts for four real life days.
During dry season, Crossroads will display dried out, yellowed grass with clear skies. The explore, territory, hunting, and patrolling pages will also reflect similar changes.
During wet season, Crossroads will display lush, wet, green grass with rainy skies. The explore, territory, hunting, and patrolling pages will also reflect similar changes.
To see how many days remain until the next season begins, go to your Cooldowns page.

Season-Exclusive Bases
Certain bases can only be bred during specific seasons. There are currently two bases that may only appear on cubs if your lionesses are bred during wet season: Cloudburst, Snowflake and Hoarfrost (Only during night time in wet season) and one base that can be bred during dry season: Smog. Please note that your lioness must be bred during their respective season in order to potentially produce a cub with these bases. It does not matter which season she gives birth in, only that the cubs are conceived during the required season.

Wet Season - The Flood Pit
During wet season a special shop becomes available on the Crossroads page, dubbed The Flood Pit.
Within the Flood Pit, you'll be able to exchange your old June event currency (Dive Beetles) into Silver Beetles, which are now used as the main currency within the Flood Pit. You'll also be able to purchase applicators, backgrounds, and decors from the retired June "Floods" event, as well as a variety of new content! These include some unique applicators, such as new bases, eyes, markings, and mane colours that were inspired by the wet season.
