Quest 30
I assure you, you can truly trust me. Please. Take this last leap of faith with me. Let's return all the Cancri remnants to their rightful place. A sacrifice of a small few will save the lives of many. You're bound to get rid of some lions eventually. Let them die today as heroes."

A large geyser of yellow light bursts out of the ground with a high-pitched hiss, reminding you of boiling meat. You notice the Demiurge crawling between rocks towards you, wheezing from pain. His fur is burnt, and the boiled skin on his face is wrapped tightly against his glowing skull, looking like an outline of death. Indescribable fear clenches your gut.
"[NAME]! The Cancer... it's materialising! It used all of my energy... [NAME]... please... kill it before it's fully formed!"
If you're willing to turn some of your shiny silver beetles into energy, the Demiurge will transfer his regenerating powers to assist you in battle. Every time you miss during the epic battle, the Demiurge will heal you for 25 HP. This purchase is permanent and will stay on your account regardless of how many times you lose and must retry the battle.
This is now the final part of the Journey to Vredefort Crater quest.
You have the option to do a one-time payment of 1000 SB to recruit the Demiurge to help you in battle. Even if you lose, the payment is a permanent unlock and the Demiurge will help you until the final battle is won.
It is advised not to spend SB on this as you will not miss attacks much during the battle. Failing to use the Grab move on The Cancer does not count as a miss, so the Demiurge will not heal you in that event.
Are you sure you want to spend 1000 SB to recruit Demiurge to help you in the battle?
You must now defeat the incredibly powerful NPC, The Cancer. The Cancer has a special Pinch attack that will drain you by 25 to 29 damage per pinch.
You can safely Rest and regain some HP without worrying about The Cancer ambushing you.
Lucky Feet cannot be used to auto-win this battle.
You will likely lose this battle quite a few times before you finally succeed.
If you lose, you will be presented with the following screen.
"The Cancer pins you to the ground and starts to consume your whisper by impaling you with its pincers. The dying Demiurge explodes with energy, warping you into spacetime to go back to the moment before the black hole consumed lion whispers. You have another chance now, in the asymmetry of time."
Clicking Return to Story? will bring you back to the Demiurge, who took you back in time to the moment before you sacrificed 20 lions to the cause.
The lions that you have previously sacrificed are permanently gone and no longer count towards this quest—you will have to sacrifice 20 new lions.
It is advised that you purchase karma fodder trades full of basic NCLs as a "cheap, easy, and fast" way to get through the sacrifical part of the quest and back into battle.
When you're back in battle, try to Grab and Pound The Cancer to stun it.
Once The Cancer has been defeated, you will be crowned victorious and prompted to Return to Story?
The Cancer's body crumbles beneath your feet as it's sucked into a small ball of light. Long, glowing threads dance around the twirling ball of light, reminding you of spider web silk strands being spun in the wind. The threads expand into the sky, trembling with power. Now THAT looks like it's working.
"Without your help, and without the kindness as well as sacrifices of others, this planet would be lost. You truly deserve your reward. Not only is your gift an Interstellar Remnant, a material gift from me, but it is also the gift of a peaceful world, given by your own paws to your future cubs. I shall make a special kingdom just for you, once your whisper arrives to its homeworld. You deserve it."
Where once there was a swirling void of ethereal light, there is nothing more but the deafening silence of yet another average day. A quiet thud in front of you catches you off-guard. Before you lies a glistening object, left behind in this point of space and time.
This ends Day 20 and the Journey to Vredefort Crater quest as a whole.
Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of an Interstellar Remnants applicator, as well as the Interstellar title for your pride leader.
Now that you have completed the Journey to Vredefort Crater quest, you can never take it again on the account that has completed it.
You can take the quest on both of the accounts you are permitted to own on Lioden.
Completing the quest on one will not prevent you from completing it on the other.
Completing the quest will also not stop you from finding Interstellar Remnants as a very rare drop in Explore.
