Welcome to the wonderful world of parenthood! Did you wait excitedly for your lioness to give birth, or did you perhaps tamper with nature and... ahem... use a special feather on her? Regardless, you are now the parent of a wonderful bundle of newborn felines!
Cubs
The amount of cubs generated in a litter for the average lioness ranges from one to four! One to two cubs is the most common amount, with three being more uncommon, and four being the rarest amount. If your lioness has the Double Uterus mutation, she can give birth to litters of two, four, six, or even eight cubs at once!
Holy cubs, Batman.
When your cubs are born, you'd want them to have the best possible chance at surviving, right? You'd best get them under the protection of a broodmother as quickly as possible. Cubs that are left unprotected can often fall victim to accidents, sometimes even fatally.
If you're lucky (or you just happen to like taking risks) and you forget to protect your cub, you may receive a message similar to this.
However, luck may not always be on your side...
After your cubs are born, you'll find that they'll need to stay with their mother in order to nurse and feed off of her milk. Cubs will nurse up until they are 5 months of age. This means that whichever cave (or account) the mother is relocated to, her cubs will follow! Keep this in mind if you're planning on selling off the mother, or even chasing, killing, or nature reserving her. Doing any of these actions before the cubs have weaned will mean that the cubs go with her (and in the latter three cases, they'll be permanently deleted).
Cub Stages
Let's talk about stages... cub stages, that is! If you've been around Lioden for a fair amount of time, you've surely seen some differences in how cubs seem to look for some players. Have you ever asked yourself, "How the hell do I get my cubs to look that adorable?!" The answer will always be: cub stages!
Cub stages are a one-time purchase in order for you to permanently unlock them for your account. You can purchase them via the Oasis for 10 GB. Upon purchasing, you will now always have two additional cub stages for your cubs: Newborn and Young!
Cub Newborn stage begins at 0 months and lasts up until 1 month of age.
Cub Young stage begins at 2 months and lasts up until 5 months of age.
The default Cub stage then takes over at 6 months of age and lasts until 1 year - when your lion becomes an adolescent.
